My Newest Project

Image
Recently I went to visit Cairos garment district, to buy my fabrics. This is my first time buying fabric for two different protects. For the first I bought Chiffon and Dupion silk as lining. Chiffon A sheer, elegant fabric with a slightly rough gauze-like texture and a beautiful drape. Made from fine twisted fibres, Chiffon silk is a very lightweight fabric with a slight stretch to it. The perfect fabric for layering and creating volume. Commonly used for special occasion and wedding dresses in which a chiffon overlay creates a stunning flowy appearance. Also used for scarves, blouses and shirts. Dupion Silk A plain-weave, tightly woven double-thread silk with a crisp, textured appearance. Woven with different sized weft and warp threads produces a strong, durable fabric with a lustrous shine. Notice the occasional black speck which may run through the weave, this is part of the original cocoon of the silk worm. A silk with plenty of charm and character, an iridescent look may be achie...

Harvesting Plants from Aquaponics

Today I made a list of the best plants for aquaponics. Then I figured out how to plant them. The point of these plants is to be able to get seeds one time and then not need plants again. I made a list of about 10 plants but there are like 40 other plants you could use.

Tulle Ball Gown

Image
I have to recreate this dress for my birthday! My mom might help fund it, since my last project turned out well. If any of you want to help fund me, contact my mom! Of course, I have no idea how to work with tulle. But, I will conquer this!  And if anyone knows were to find boning, please tell me! Structure is so important! By Emi

The Garden Of Legos by Mo'men and Hamza

Image
The garden of legos was a beautiful garden that we made out of Legos.  Mo'men and I made it together.  We worked very hard.  It is very pretty.  Two of the three plants did not turn out the way we planned it to look like.  The plumeria looked like a yellow tree.  The bougainvillea looked like purple wall of Legos.  But the cactus looked very good.

Fonis chem experience

It’s foni here. I’m starting on a new project and I decided to choose the chemistry project. I just got familiar with it and didn’t really start on any of the tasks but I’m sure that I’ll enjoy this one. I’ll start on my first task which will be the “iron gall ink” next Sunday and I’ll come back here to post on my thoughts

Fish harvesting by Thomas

So today I researched and wrote about harvesting fish. I have no picture because it was just a paper of words. Harvesting the fish will be harder then I expected and now I need to redesign the system again to accommodate for that. In hindsight I should have done this stuff before I designed the system, but it doesn't matter. Next week I am going to do more research on harvesting plants and fish and stuff like that.

HELLO EVERYONE! UPDATES IN PHOTOSHOP: So today, I drew a photo of weather themed cats and I made a picture of, like, four-ish year old Thomas as an alien and I used the magic wand tool.

Hi! Today I drew a picture of butterfly food-themed bears in photoshop.

Pump system and improved design

Image
This is my new and improved design for the aquaponics system. It looks sloppy but it makes sense to me at least. I made this after figuring out how to pump water vertically and a better way to release the water. Next week I will try to incorporate a way to harvest fish as well as plants.

Photoshop, By Daniel

Image
Today I photoshopped two images of the Pyramids, here is a before and after of the images: Before: After: I decided to do two images because I wanted to see what each would look like with the different colors added to the image. Thank you for viewing this blog.

Photoshop, By Daniel

Image
Today I used the blur tool, so it looks as if it is a reflection from the water, I also changed the opacity of the image so it would look more real and underwater instead of it looking as if had just been placed on a mirror. Here is my work:

Designing aquaponics

Image
This is an aquaponics system I designed. I know it is very rough but I will work on it more because this is not the final design. My dad and I will build this on our balcony when we finish with plans. The way aquaponics works is simple. The fish tank will fertilize the water. Then the water flows through the plants. The water then gets purified by the plants and and goes back in the fish tank. It the. Repeats the cycle.

More weddings ugh. By Aya

Image
HELLO AGAIN!!!! I THINK I SHOULD STOP DOING WEDDING SCENES. Yeah. So I'm back. With more wedding scenes. Sorry. 😑 Anyway, I used A LOT of tools today. I used the dodge tool (which didn't really work) and the smudge tool and the healing brush tool. Next week I want to use the clone tool.

Dijas blaster

Garden of Great Colors

Image
Today I made a model of a plumeria garden.  It looks a little like a jungle.   So far I have made model gardens of bougainvillea, cacti, and plumeria.  Next week we are going to research all three once again deeply.  The week after that we are going to make a model of three gardens in one.  After that we will start working on the design of our garden.

More photoshop. By Aya

Image
Hi! Today I used the frame tool to photoshop one of my icky baby pictures. It has a few people from game day in it. Next week I want to use the spot healing brush tool. P.S: Daniel copied my idea! I am the original!

Gru Inside a Coffee Cup, Photoshop, By, Daniel

Image
Today I used the clipping mask tool. The clipping mask tool allows you to insert an image inside of an image (gets vertigo). This is a great tool because you can make a photoshopped image look more real and feel like the real deal. I used this tool to put Gru inside a coffee cup. As you can see: This is what you would call... Perfecto. Response to Aya: I thought we were the Photoshop gang, and we could give each other ideas. I also taught you how to use some of the tools in Photoshop. So, it was just improvised.

Emi and FELIX wedding scene by Aya

Image
Hi! today I made a funny wedding scene with Emi and FELIX, a celebrity she likes. There's me and my parents and one of Emi's cat friends as the guests. I used the dodge tool on Emi. Next week I want to use the frame tool.

Colour sensor by: Amena

Image
So this is what I did today! I connected and placed the colour sensor on the EV3, and programed it to move forward then stop when it I put my hand in front of it. After that I learned how to use the configuring blocks. This is my code: This is where I placed the colour sensor:

How To Tell If A Garment Is High Quality Part 1

Image
By Emi Colors, dyeing, prints, applique, jacquards, fabric quality, fiber quality, and sewing. Fit If the fit on anyone is bad, its a problem with the pattern of the garment, and or weave of the fabric mest up to creat twisted seams and bad drape.        Color and Vibrancy If a fabric is low quality, it will fade or if multicolored, it will bleed into others. T-shirts with designs are bound to be of a poor quality, but are forgivable because you cant live with out T-shirts. Jacquards Jacquards are more expensive than prints because the motif is woven or knitted into the fabric. The threads are already dyed before woven. They remain vibrant for a longer time. Fabric and Fiber Quality   If fabric is loosely woven, then it is more likely to fray and tare.    You can count the quality, thread per inch. The average T-shirt could have 200 threads per inch, while dinner jackets can have up to a 1000.     The famous 4 natural fibers are silk, co...

JOJO making a metl detecter

Ih I am jojo and I made a metal detecter  bye

Orange battery

I'll be honest. I forgot to take a picture and already took my battery apart. But what I did was I got an orange and put two paper clips in it and attached positive and negative wires to them, then I put a light on the other end of the wires. It didn't not work for a few reasons. 1. I didn't know what I was doing because I was trying to do it myself. 2. I used paper clips but I needed copper and zinc. Next week I will make another circuit but don't know what yet.

Dija's catapul

In game day I made a catapul with cups and a stick  and some buttons  My Next project for Game Day is a musical thing

Beautiiful plumeria by Hamza and Mo'men

Image
The plumeria is a plant that likes more areas such as Mexico, Central America, South America, Hawaii, and the Caribbean. There are eleven different kinds of Plumeria.  Most of them look different from each other. In the summer they lose their leave but they are not dead.  Make sure to drain their pots well and put pumice stones to help with drainage.  Put special pads under the drainage holes so flies and mosquitos don't come in. Next week: we will make a model of a plumeria garden.  Mo'men will make his out of play dough and Hamza will make his out of snap cubes.

My Cactus Garden Model by Hamza

Famous People: Photoshop, By Daniel

Image
Today I worked on Photoshop and tried to create famous people using the select and mask tool, and then create a clipping mask to insert images into the image of a said famous person.  So far, I've used The Rock Johnsen, Tom Brady, Spider-Man (better than tom holland, plus I don't want two toms), and finally SNOOP DOGG! For the images that I've inserted inside of the celebrities, I used the Hollywood sign, and Hollywood skyscraper (The Rock). I also used Tampa Bay Clearwater, Florida, and Tampa Bay's skyscrapers (Tom Brady). Then I used New York's city skyline (Spider-Man). Then finally I used fat stacks of cash (SNOOP DOGG).

PHOTOSHOP WEDDING SCENE!

Image
Photoshop was so fun today!  Today I used the marquee tool . It makes it so I can select an area and rotate it.😁 I made a weird wedding scene today.  I used the rectangle tool but I couldn't find a use for it in the wedding scene. Next week I want to learn how to use the dodge tool.

Thomas's metal detector

Image
So my original intention was to make a water level indicator. But I had no instructions because I was trying to learn from trial and error. It ended up not working because there was no source of electricity in the water (I'm guessing.) Next week Foni and I are working together to make a Lemon Battery

fonis circuit story

hello there foni here. so i dont really have anything fun to talk about but hey i still tried to blog so you better read haha! i worked on a simple switch circuit again because this felt like a starter to me. i just messed around with a ton of projects from the book. next week tho will be fun! YAY yeah i know. me and tommy will work on lemons and trying to make a simple circuit out of it. wish us luck! see ya next week.

Golden Barrel by Hamza

Image
Today I researched prickly pear and golden barrel cacti. Golden Barrel Cactus has yellow flowers that dry up for part of the year.  You can tear one of the dry flowers off and you will find an old (fermented) fruit at the bottom.  You can tear this fruit apart and find seeds.  You can plant more Golden Barrel Cacti with these seeds. Prickly Pear Cactus is a plant that can sometimes grow really tall.  The Prickly Pear is entirely edible.  The fruit is very healthy.  It can help with diabetes and hangovers. Next week: My goal for next week is to make a model of these two cacti out of LEGOs.

Thomas's light switch

Image
i know the picture is bad quality but that is it. I made an L.E.D.  light connect to a switch and all the wires connect to a 9v battery. My goal for next week is to make a water level indicator.

Lovely Stiff Fabrics

Image
By Emi   Some stiff fabrics are used as the overlay of a gown. Good for draping, prone to water staining, and lovely for showing off the figure.   Taffeta       Taffeta is a stiff fabric that can be made of polyester or silk. Its unique stiffness and sheen  is created by weaving red thread (picture as example) and stiff metallic thread. Horse Hair  Unlike Taffeta, Horse hair fabric is used to stiffen skirts and trains. It's often used in crinolines,  fanning out when pleated and stacked. The crinoline you are most familiar with is probably the cage crinoline.    See ya'll next time! You can see the chemise that is going with my ball gown, and all of the lace I am hand stitching on! 1890's sewing techniques and everything...
