The mystery of the merry go round!

My friend and I where making a LEGO merry go round,and when we finished, it would not spin!
So how did we fix it?

    Did you make sure the pieces that need to spin were clear of other pieces? This one has frustrated me in the past when I tried making a battering ram. At one point I had, in a very difficult place to see, just a single 1x1 LEGO connected to another. It prevented the ram from swinging. (Oh and I'm one of you dad's very good friends from BYU! He can tell you all about my LEGO castles.)
