boats part one and two by Aya
Part one: Hi everyone! Today we made our designs for boats. We have limited supplies for them. We have tape, straws, plastic wrap, and paper cups. We need to make a boat that will carry 20 washers and stay afloat.
If any of you have suggestions, please write them in the comments below. Do you think it will sink or float? Can it hold 20 washers? Next week I will send the results. Please respond! Bye!😍🛥
Part two:
So I strugled with keeping it bouyant stable and waterproof, but it was a fun expirence. i was the last to finish, and mine never really worked but it was okay. BYE!
Merry here, I loved seeing your design and then the experiment process. I wonder, what would you do differently if you made it again?
ReplyDeleteWhen Thomas Edison finally succeeded in inventing the light bulb, he was asked by a reporter how it felt to have failed 1000 times. Edison replied that he hadn't failed 1000 times, it just took 1000 steps to invent the lightbulb.
ReplyDeleteHello my dear Aya. I left a message last night but it seems I don't know how to publish it to your timeliness.
ReplyDeleteTrial and error is a tried and true process of the scientific method. With each trial you make observations and adjust your next trial. Never give up. When you get a little older you'll add some math and Archimedes Principle to help you figure out this problem. When we lived in Sault Ste Marie it always amazed me to see 1000ft freighters made of steel, carrying 10,000 tons of iron ore still able to float down the St. Mary's River.
