Paper table design

Image
Today's challenge is to make a design of a table, using a piece of cardboard, 8 pieces of paper, and tape. As I was drawing the design, I was trying to thing of a way to make the table stable enough to hold a (HEAVY) book. This Is what I came up with. Well, not really "came up" it's a pretty basic design, but it's the only thing I could think of.

Hello every one, today we tried to design a table that is made out of 3 things and they are: tape, 8 papers, and a piece of cardboard. so basically we have to make it 8 inches tall and it should be able to hold a heavy book. Here is a picture of my design: I am not so sure if it'll work , and wish Mr luck!

boats part one and two by Aya

Part one: Hi everyone! Today we made our designs for boats. We have limited supplies for them. We have tape, straws, plastic wrap, and paper cups. We need to make a boat that will carry 20 washers and stay afloat. If any of you have suggestions, please write them in the comments below. Do you think it will sink or float? Can it hold 20 washers? Next week I will send the results. Please respond! Bye!😍🛥 Part two: So I strugled with keeping it bouyant stable and waterproof, but it was a fun expirence. i was the last to finish, and mine never really worked but it was okay. BYE!

The floating boat by Amina

Today me and my friends tried to make a boat that floats on water with 20 washers on top of it. This was my fist attempt : my first attempt failed, because it wasn't stable enough. Here is a video of my boat falling:

Will the boat float? Watch the video to find out! The challenge, was to balance 20 washers on a boat. But not any boat, we had to use limited supplies. The supplies where, 10 cups, 10 straws, tape, and plastic wrap.  This was my 3D design that I drew last week. I tried to make it as heavy and thick as possible. The heavier it is, the more force will push the boat up, which will make it more buoyant.  What do you think our next project will be? Stay tuned!

I got my boat to float first try!! I made sure that the hull of the boat was flater, more square to help with the stabilaty. The bottom was wraped with tape and plastik wrap to keep the inside dry. I made my boat heavier to increase the buoyancy. By Emi

today is GameDay I made a boat that floats in the water 💧 it's a challenge for me to make the boat work with 20 washers ⛵.

My very risky boat design. By Mayumi

We are doing a 'build a boat project.' The boat is made of tape, straws, papercups, and plastic wrap. The goal is for the boat to withstand the weight of 20 coin like objects on water. My design is a cup cut in half, with straws taped to the bottom, the tape is also covering the holes in the straws to create little air pockets for the boat to float. I then add another layer on cup-cut-in-half, and tape it together, then cover the entire boat with plastic wrap to preserve the air pockets that may have formed. That's it! Will the many layers weigh down the boat enough for it to sink? What do you think? So it worked!!! It was bouyant, because of all the straws I used. Maybe not 100% stable, as I noticed it was starting to tilt near the end. I didnt tape the straws evenly on both sides of the boat, same with the second layer of cup, so maybe thats it. It was certainly waterproof, due to the layers of plastic wrap and tape that practically drowned me boat design.

Today in Game Day we desind boats that we will make next time. The boats are bult with (up to) 10 paper cups, 10 plastic straws, some length of tape and plastic wrap. The boats must be able to carry 20 washers with out sinking. I wonder if mine will work? See you next time! Emi By Emi
